Halloween Party Ideas

What better night to be absolutely devilish than Halloween? Halloween is a time to let go of your inhibitions, forget about the humdrum 9 to five, get a little mad and act like someone else – just for a evening. If you are preparing a costume party this Halloween, gather great halloween party ideas, cocktails, food and friends together for a spooktacular night with a frightful theme like a Seven Deadly Sins Party! Pride, lust, greed, envy, sloth, wrath and gluttony will all play a part in making your party a wicked success. Make “sin stations” for your friends and have an awards ceremony at the end.

Nothing sets the mood like spooky Halloween decor. Hang up black paper bat garland. Cut out enormous question marks from dark paper and put those up as well. Use ink to create fingerprints onto clear acetate paper, cut out and attach to mirrors and windows around the home! Of course, no murder mystery would be complete without a couple of suspicious “weapons” lying around. Set out items like a wrench, toy sword and mark and empty bottle, “POISON” to bring on the suspicion!Prepare peanut butter cookies and chocolate cookies to give to your friends. Place the cookies in a clear cellophane bag, alternating the peanut butter cookies with the chocolate cookies to match with the orange and black theme. Tie the bag closed with a cute piece of orange or black ribbon.

A witch isn’t quite as marvelous without her broom. If you have enough party room, prepare broom races for your witches-in-training.
You will either need a large room (think finished basement or living room with the furniture cleared to side) or if it is a nice, sunny fall day, have your broom races on the grass.Make sure you have at least one broom per party guest. Fortunately, you probably have at least one or two in the house and you can purchase the rest at a dollar shop. You can even ask each witch BYOB… Bring Your Own Broom (but do not forget to send it back home with her).
